“Girlfriends are good, exercise is good – and chocolate! but you have to remind yourself that the world is a huge place, and there are hundreds of opportunities and different people to meet and so many places to go.”

I think every little girl’s dream is to be a mermaid or to see a mermaid. When I was younger I would go to the beach and cover myself in the sand. People from different cultures and centuries have the same idea of what mermaids are … so that’s maybe a cool thing to think about.”

Adobe Photoshop CS6 Beta
Today came the good news of the beta release of Adobe Photoshop CS6. And with every new release of Photoshop comes new major features as well. We already have seen a few in sneak peeks, but now it’s time to play with them! Please note that some of the new features might not be in the final release or can be changed. You can download the beta for Mac and Windows over here!

One thing you probably will notice when you first open the app is the new user interface. Instead of a grey one, we now get to see an almost black, dark grey one. For those not liking it, there’s an option to change it back, or to use a grey tint in between. You can find the option in the preferences.

The layer panel got updated too, which makes it easier to find your way through heave layered documents. You now have the option to filter your layers by kind, name, effect, attribute or color. This makes it a very nice welcome to workflow for many heavy users.

In Adobe Photoshop CS5 we were welcomed with the Content Aware Fill, making it possible to quickly ‘delete’ big elements out of a photo and got it filled up with things that most of the time made sense due the surroundings. A new thing in Adobe Photoshop CS6 is the Content Aware Move Tool, which allows you to simply move object around in a photo while Photoshop does the rest for you.

The Blur filters has got an update too with three new filters. A Field blur, that blurs a specific part of your photo, an Iris blur which allows you to focus on a certain thing on a photo. And maybe the nicest one, the Tilt-Shift blur. Tilt-shift allows you to add a certain amount of dept in a photo and gives it a miniature feel too it.

The shape strokes have gotten a really nice update too. In earlier versions your options where very limited when it came down to stroke. When you wanted a dashed or a dotted stroke, it was possible, but with a huge work around. Now you’re able to simple select different types of strokes and effects when you have an object activated.
Of course there are a lot of other new features in Adobe Photoshop CS6, like a new crop tool, perspective crop, automatic lorem ipsum, auto save (finally!) and many more. But the best way to find out is to simply play with it. You can find the beta for Windows and Mac over here.
